A prestigious Manhattan real estate law firm located in the Financial District is seeking a Residential Real Estate Banking Paralegal to join one of NYC's top residential banking practices. Position Summary:  

We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive professional with experience in NYC real estate banking. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, decision-making ability, and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload with accuracy and poise. You will work closely with clients, lenders, and internal team members to manage all aspects of residential real estate transactions from inception through closing. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Handle all aspects of residential purchase and refinance transactions for cooperatives, condominiums, multi-family properties, and construction loans. 
  • Open files and manage pre-closing requirements (e.g., order title work, obtain mortgage/lien payoffs, request title insurance binders, review lien searches and title reports). 
  • Review and prepare Closing Disclosures (CDs), HUD-1s, and ALTA settlement statements. 
  • Draft and process CEMAs and UCC filings; coordinate title clearance and closing requirements. 
  • Schedule and calendar appointments, key deadlines, and closings. 
  • Serve as the central point of contact for clients, buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, and attorneys. 
  • Provide ongoing communication and updates to all parties involved in the transaction. 
  • Manage post-closing duties, including disbursing funds, recording documents, shipping executed packages, and resolving trailing issues. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the firm’s case management software. 
  • Oversee transaction pipeline and proactively address any issues that may delay closings. 
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and firm-specific guidelines. 

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in NYC real estate law, specifically in residential banking transactions
  • Ability to review and analyze title reports, lien searches, and prepare CEMAs. 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions independently and take ownership of tasks. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management software. 
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
